When we brought you Mark Millar's tweets about the pre-production work he has seen so far for THE SECRET SERVICE, a few people commented about how little attention the project has received so far. Filming begins next month and with a couple of key roles still left to cast, I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot more about the comic book adaptation.
One of those roles might have just been filled. Multiple sites are reporting that Michael Caine has joined the THE SECRET SERVICE, and although it isn't known what that role might be many have speculated he'll be playing the leader of the secret agents from the comic series. Creator Mark Millar was asked if Michael Caine has been cast in THE SECRET SERVICE, and he responded with this tweet:
Flurry of tweets asking about the great @themichaelcaine joining our Secret Service movie. Very interesting, but only Fox can confirm 🙂

If Michael Caine signs on for THE SECRET SERVICE he'll be joining Colin Firth, who became attached to the project back in April. Firth will be playing Uncle Jack in the film, a secret agent who trains his nephew Gary on how to become a super spy. Leonardo DiCaprio is still rumored to play Gary, and hopefully they can bring him on board as well.
To celebrate Michael Caine's possible casting in THE SECRET SERVICE, here's this video of Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon arguing about who does a better impersonation of the actor.
THE SECRET SERVICE is scheduled to be released on November 14th, 2014.
