With Harrison Ford possibly back for a new STAR WARS, many people have wondered if the actor will also return to play his other iconic character: Indiana Jones. He's talked about it from time to time, and there have been rumors before that a fifth film might happen. The Telegraph talked to Ford recently and he says that he is still open to playing Indy in another film:
We've seen the character develop and grow over a period of time and it's perfectly appropriate and okay for him to come back again with a great movie around him where he doesn't necessarily have to kick as much ass.
That "doesn't necessarily have to kick as much ass" line is probably Harrison Ford referring to how his age (71) might effect the character in a future film, although it was kind of brought up already in INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL. Ford then goes on to talk about one of the things he always liked about the character:
To me, what was interesting about the character was that he prevailed, that he had courage, that he had wit, that he had intelligence, that he was frightened and that he still managed to survive. That I can do.
I think most of us would love to see Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones again, but not if it's going to end up like KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL. I'm not one of the people that absolutely hated the film, however I do feel like it just wasn't on the same level as the previous films. Maybe it's impossible for a new film to feel as special and awesome as the original trilogy, but if Harrison Ford says he wants another crack at it I say let him. Although there is a possibility that this happens again:
You can check out Harrison Ford's next film PARANOIA on August 16th, 2013, and he also stars in ENDER'S GAME which is out November 1st, 2013.
