He picked up the whip once more to play Indiana Jones a few years ago, he’s currently headed back to the STAR WARS galaxy, and now it looks like Harrison Ford might don the trench coat once again for Alcon Entertainment’s Ridley Scott-directed BLADE RUNNER sequel. If the studio gets its way, of course.
A press release issued by Warner Bros-based Alcon has been sent out mentioning the fact the producers have reached out to Ford – an interesting move on the production company’s part.
While the story is being kept under wraps, it takes place several decades after the conclusion of the 1982 original. Hampton Fancher (BLADE RUNNER) and Michael Green (GREEN LANTERN) are penning the screenplay.
Alcon co-founders and co-CEO’s Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson had this to say:
“We believe that Hampton Fancher and Michael Green have crafted with Ridley Scott an extraordinary sequel to one of the greatest films of all time. We would be honored, and we are hopeful, that Harrison will be part of our project.”
Ford is busy shooting STAR WARS EPISODE VII at the moment, so we shouldn’t expect a response too soon. However, last month he made it clear he’s interested in reprising the role of android-hunting (and possible android) Rick Deckard.
