Hammer bangs again


I guess just like some of the old monster movie characters that the studio used to produce, the old British Horror movie label Hammer Film Productions has been brought back from the dead. Hammer, the label that has owned the hearts of so many cult-horror fans, has been brought back from the dead by a group of European investors led by Netherlands-based Cyrte Investment.

You may have heard of Hammer for it’s great run of horror films in the 50’s and 60’s with the films DRACULA and FRANKENSTEIN. You remember the Hammer Film Production version of DRACULA, don’t you? – with Christopher Lee. Yup that’s right, before Lee was twirling a light saber around in the STAR WARS prequels, he was sucking blood for Hammer.

Apparently the new group running Hammer wants to keep with the old traditions that Hammer stands for, but not re-hash any of the old titles, instead making new films. Sounds good to me!.
