Halloween & The Predator premiere at this year’s TIFF!

Looks like this year's Toronto International Film Festival is going to be one for the books as today we have word that not only will Shane Black and Fred Dekker's THE PREDATOR premiere at this year's fest, but Blumhouse's direct sequel to John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN will be screening for the first time as well! More specifically, David Gordon Green’s HALLOWEEN and Shane Black's THE PREDATOR will be part of this year's Midnight Madness selection.

This year’s Midnight Madness slate promises another idiosyncratic confluence of established and emerging genre filmmakers. To complement some of the buzziest provocations on the festival circuit, I have sought to curate an eccentric array of World Premieres that demonstrate the dexterity of genre cinema as a canvas for both sublime satisfaction and stunning subversion. That includes the section’s two much-anticipated sequels, The Predator and Halloween, each of which boldly and brilliantly builds upon its mythic iconography to thrilling and surprising effect.

On top of all those (sure to be) quality flicks, HALLOWEEN and THE PREDATOR are two of the absolute highest-anticipated horror releases this year, so if you're planning on attending this year's fest, I'm officially jealous.
