The HALLOWEEN sequel from director David Gordon Green has been filming in the Charleston, South Carolina area for a while now, and we've been tracking its progress through any means necessary – with the Instagram accounts of various people involved having proven to be a good source of information.
The latest example is the image embedded below, which was shared to Instagram by actress Andi Matichak, who is playing the granddaughter of original HALLOWEEN heroine Laurie Strode in the new film. In this behind-the-scenes image we see Matichak hanging out with fellow actors Miles Robbins and Virginia Garden, playing a couple of her character Allyson's Haddonfield High classmates.
Directed by Green from a screenplay he wrote with Danny McBride, this HALLOWEEN is ignoring every installment in the franchise beyond the 1978 original. Jamie Lee Curtis is back as Laurie Strode, who
comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Curtis, Matichak, Robbins, and Gardner are joined in the cast by Judy Greer as Laurie's daughter / Allyson's mother Karen, Will Patton and Rob Niter as police officers, Dylan Arnold and Drew Scheid as other Haddonfield High students, and Rhian Rees as a character named Dana. Slasher Michael Myers is being played by original Myers performer Nick Castle and stuntman James Jude Courtney.
Produced by Blumhouse Productions and Malek Akkad, with Green and McBride executive producing with John Carpenter (who is also planning to provide the score), HALLOWEEN is scheduled to be released on October 19, 2018.
