As David Gordon Green and Danny McBride's HALLOWEEN was such a critical and commercial success, it's only natural that the studio would get the ball rolling on a sequel, but Blumhouse doubled down by announcing two new films, HALLOWEEN KILLS and HALLOWEEN ENDS. Production on the first sequel got underway in September, and the official franchise Twitter account has revealed that principal photography has now wrapped with a new image featuring Lindsey Wallace (Kyle Richards) and Tommy Doyle (Anthony Michael Hall), the two children who Laurie Strode babysat in the 1978 film. If you look closely, you'll also notice Nancy Stephens in the background. Stevens played Nurse Marion Chambers in the original film as well as HALLOWEEN II and HALLOWEEN H20: 20 YEARS LATER.

Jamie Lee Curtis has previously teased that HALLOWEEN KILLS and HALLOWEEN ENDS will be digging deep into the trauma of the original John Carpenter film.
What I love that David and Danny and company did is they connected the dots for forty years, now they’re going back to really unpack the first movie, bringing back all those characters whose lives were affected by what happened in 1978… And then the last movie is the sort of cultural phenomenon of violence, that’s what the third movie ultimately is, a very powerful examination of violence.
Curtis also said that it was this opportunity to examine trauma of survivors which drew her back to the role. "We have horror movies that are horrific and we have these horrific events take place, but we leave the movie theater and then we complain that the dishwasher doesn’t work. The trauma that occurs for these character for forty years, I felt was very important that David understood that and was really giving Laurie great honor to acknowledge that her experience of her life was very challenged," Curtis said, but added that the chance to kick Michael's ass was certainly a factor as well. HALLOWEEN KILLS is set for an October 16, 2020 release with HALLOWEEN ENDS hitting theaters on October 15, 2021.
