Halloween Kills: John Carpenter releases score track “Michael’s Legend”

Director David Gordon Green’s Halloween Kills is just a couple weeks away now, as it will be reaching theatres and the Peacock streaming service on October 15th, and to help continue to to build the hype composers John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter, and Daniel Davies have released a third track from their score online. We’ve previously heard tracks called “Unkillable” and “Rampage“, and this third one is called “Michael’s Legend”. You can check it out in the embed below.

Here’s how “Michael’s Legend” is described in a press release:

In contrast with the bombastic violence and unsettling ominosity of previously released cues “Unkillable” and “Rampage,” “Michael’s Legend” is a haunting piano requiem, highlighting the tumultuous emotional undercurrents at play in both the film and its accompanying soundtrack.

Sacred Bones Records is releasing the Halloween Kills score on vinyl, CD, and cassette on October 15th. Copies can be pre-ordered at THIS LINK.

Green’s Halloween 2018 (watch it HERE) ignored all of the other Halloween movies except for John Carpenter’s original (which you can watch HERE). Scripted by Green, Danny McBride, and Scott Teems, Halloween Kills is set on the same night as its predecessor.

Minutes after Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie’s basement, Laurie is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, believing she finally killed her lifelong tormentor. But when Michael manages to free himself from Laurie’s trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes. As Laurie fights her pain and prepares to defend herself against him, she inspires all of Haddonfield to rise up against their unstoppable monster. The Strode women join a group of other survivors of Michael’s first rampage who decide to take matters into their own hands, forming a vigilante mob that sets out to hunt Michael down, once and for all. Evil dies tonight.

Myers is going to be crossing paths with a lot of familiar faces in this one. In addition to returning stars Curtis, Greer, and Matichak, we’re also getting Robert Longstreet as Lonnie Elam (a character from the original film), Dylan Arnold back as Allyson’s boyfriend / Lonnie’s son Cameron, Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace (reprising a role she first played in 1978), Anthony Michael Hall as Tommy Doyle, Nancy Stephens as Nurse Marion (who she played in the first two films and Halloween H20), Charles Cyphers as Leigh Brackett from the first two films, Jibrail Nantambu as Halloween 2018 scene stealer Julian, child actress Victoria Paige Watkins as a new character named Christy, and James Jude Courtney as Michael Myers. Original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle also has a one scene cameo.

Green, McBride, and Curtis also serve as executive producers alongside Couper Samuelson and Carpenter. Jason Blum produced with Malek Akkad.
