Halloween Ends: Kyle Richards signs on to play Lindsey Wallace again

Forty-plus years after playing the character of Lindsey Wallace in John Carpenter’s Halloween (watch it HERE), Kyle Richards returned to the role for the sequel Halloween Kills (read our review HERE) – and soon after Halloween Kills received its theatrical and Peacock streaming release back in October, director David Gordon Green hinted to Entertainment Weekly that we might see Richards play Lindsey again in the next sequel, Halloween Ends. Well, now it’s official: Variety reports that Richards signed on to return for Halloween Ends, which begins filming next month and is scheduled to reach theatres on October 14, 2022.

Green will be directing Halloween Ends from a screenplay he wrote with Danny McBride, Paul Brad Logan, and Chris Bernier, and Variety notes that the script was specifically rewritten to give Richards an expanded role in the story after the filmmakers saw how positively fans reacted to her return in Halloween Kills.

Richards spoke to Variety about coming back for Halloween Ends, saying,

The last movie, I saw Jamie (Lee Curtis) on the set, but we didn’t have stuff together. So I’m really hoping that there is more stuff together. I can’t talk about any storylines, but all I can say is that we start filming in January, and I’m so excited to return with Jamie Lee Curtis and David Gordon Green.”

Producer Jason Blum provided the following statement:

We are thrilled that Kyle will be reprising her role in Halloween Ends. The return of iconic characters in Halloween Kills was really important to David Gordon Green, and he took great pains to bring back the original actors when he could.”

Blum is producing the film with Malek Akkad and Bill Block. Green, McBride, and Curtis serve as executive producers alongside John Carpenter and Couper Samuelson.

I didn’t like Halloween Kills very much, but I was glad to see Richards as Lindsey again. I look forward to seeing her again in Halloween Ends – and hope she’ll make it through this one, too.
