In the coming months we'll be seeing Miles Robbins face off with iconic slasher Michael Myers in a new HALLOWEEN sequel and Sasha Lane (pictured above in AMERICAN HONEY) fall for HELLBOY in the reboot of that franchise, but while we wait for those films to come along Robbins and Lane are already at work on DANIEL ISN'T REAL, the new film from director Adam Egypt Mortimer (SOME KIND OF HATE, the New Year's Eve segment of the anthology HOLIDAYS).
SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE's Patrick Schwarzenegger and SOUTHBOUND's Hannah Marks star alongside Robbins and Lane in the film, which is based on the novel In This Way I Was Saved by Brian DeLeeuw. DeLeeuw and Mortimer wrote the screenplay together.
Currently filming in New York City, DANIEL ISN'T REAL will show what happens when
troubled college freshman Luke (Robbins) suffers a violent family trauma and resurrects his childhood imaginary friend Daniel (Schwarzenegger) to help him cope. Charismatic and full of manic energy, Daniel helps Luke to achieve his dreams, before pushing him to the very edge of sanity and into a desperate struggle for control of his mind — and his soul.
DANIEL ISN'T REAL is a collaboration between ACE Pictures Entertainment and SpectreVision. SpectreVision's co-founder Elijah Wood said the project is
a stylized, sexy, and emotionally nuanced supernatural thriller. A terrifying look into the things that everyone hides beneath the surface."
This sounds interesting to me, and I'm really intrigued to find out just how creepy Arnie's son will get when Daniel turns bad.
