John Carpenter’s slasher classic HALLOWEEN is headed back to drive-in theaters this year! The news was announced via "HalloweenMovies.com."
Trancas International Films and Compass International Pictures have joined forces with CineLife Entertainment in order to “bring Halloween to audiences safely during this time of the pandemic,” with the film being offered up to drive-in locations through the Halloween season. And not just HALLOWEEN, but also HALLOWEEN 4: THE RETURN OF MICHAEL MYERS and HALLOWEEN 5: THE REVENGE OF MICHAEL MYERS.
Fans of the series will no doubt recognize this lineup from past years; in fact, the print of HALLOWEEN is the one that Dean Cundey remastered and restored a couple of years ago. Nonetheless, it’s always nice to see The Shape on the silver screen, especially since HALLOWEEN KILLS won't be headed to theaters this year as planned after being delayed to the COVID-19 pandemic. The highly anticipated sequel will now hit screens next year on October 15, 2021.
Several locations are beginning to roll out the films already, from the Midwest to the Northeast to even parts of Texas. The films should be playing at a drive-in theater near you leading up to the Halloween season and you can actually go HERE to find the locations that are being added near you and if you don't see your location, you can request it HERE! Will YOU be heading out to see HALLOWEEN and some of its sequels at your local drive-in?
