Halloween 4, 5, and original film returning to theatre & drive-in screens

The release of HALLOWEEN KILLS, the latest sequel in the HALLOWEEN franchise, has been pushed back a year due to the pandemic, so we won't have the chance to watch that movie this October – but HALLOWEEN films aren't going to be completely absent from the big screen this year. It has been announced that Trancas International Films and Compass International Pictures are teaming up with CineLife Entertainment to bring John Carpenter's 1978 classic HALLOWEEN and the sequels HALLOWEEN 4: THE RETURN OF MICHAEL MYERS and HALLOWEEN 5 back to theatres and drive-ins worldwide.

HALLOWEEN 2018 and HALLOWEEN KILLS producer Ryan Freimann told HalloweenMovies.com that the companies are bringing 

HALLOWEEN to audiences safely during this time of the pandemic, and drive-in theatre owners seem excited to be booking it, as the Halloween season is right around the corner."

This re-release is set to run through October 31st. The print of HALLOWEEN '78 that's being offered to theatre and drive-in owners is a restored and remastered digital print that was created under the supervision of cinematographer Dean Cundey.

In the original film, the villain, Michael Myers, has spent the last 15 years locked away inside a sanitarium under the care of child psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis. On October 30, 1978, Myers escapes and makes his way back home to Haddonfield, turning a night of tricks and treats into something much more sinister for three young women, including Laurie Strode, the star-making role for Jamie Lee Curtis. In 1988, Producer Moustapha Akkad breathed new life into the franchise with Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (which is often ranked as one of the top films in the series), followed by Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, both of which feature fan-favorite, Danielle Harris.

I have seen the original HALLOWEEN on the big screen multiple times, but I have never had the chance to see a theatrical screening of my favorite sequel, HALLOWEEN 4. Watching HALLOWEEN 4 at a drive-in sounds like it would be a lot of fun… and I wouldn't mind seeing HALLOWEEN 5 at a drive-in as well. A drive-in triple feature of all three of these HALLOWEEN movies would be awesome.
