Halle Berry‘s involvement in Bryan Singer‘s X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST has been an unsure thing up until now, as Singer has taken to Twitter to announce her official involvement. Berry will return to the role of Storm, the famed weather-controlling mutant whom the actress portrayed in the first three X-MEN films.
Couldn’t be more excited that #HalleBerry has joined the cast of #XMen #DaysofFuturePast. Hopefully she can improve the weather in Montreal.

Berry joins the already “assembled” cast of returning and new castmembers, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Hugh Jackman, Shawn Ashmore, , Ellen Page, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, and newcomers Peter Dinklage and Omar Sy, with still-rumored James Marsden, Lucas Till, Caleb Landry Jones to be confirmed. That’s quite a cast any way you shake it and with that many favorites all in one movie you’re sure to have a contender on your hands.
Singer is currently enjoying the #1 spot for his recently released JACK THE GIANT SLAYER, although it’s not likely to meet industry expectations. Thankfully, he has X-MEN to fall back on, which is a safer bet to be sure.
X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is currently in pre-production with an eye towards release on July 18, 2014.
