Paramount has dropped the first trailer for the new comedy LIKE A BOSS, and in it, we see stars Tiffany Haddish and Rose Byrne going head-to-head against Salma Hayek in a war between beauty care companies. When they find the future of both their business and their friendship threatened by a leading figure in the cosmetics industry, Mia and Mel (Haddish and Byrne) must fight back against the corporate big-wig, no matter how many hilarious shenanigans they have to put themselves through! As far as start-of-the-year comedies go LIKE A BOSS doesn't seem like a bad bet. There were several spots that had me chuckling, especially Billy Porter's dramatic, tragic moment. Haddish has become a massive name in the comedy game over the years, and it's always great to see genuinely funny people like Byrne and Hayek get into some wild comedy.
Directed by Miguel Arteta with a screenplay by Sam Pitman & Adam Cole-Kelly, LIKE A BOSS co-stars Porter, Jennifer Coolidge, Ari Graynor, Natasha Rothwell, Jessica St. Clair and Karan Soni.
Here's the synopsis:
Best friends Mia and Mel (Tiffany Haddish and Rose Byrne) are living their best lives running their own cosmetics company they’ve built from the ground up. Unfortunately, they’re in over their heads financially, and the prospect of a big buyout offer from a notorious titan of the cosmetics industry Claire Luna (Salma Hayek) proves too tempting to pass up, putting Mel and Mia’s lifelong friendship in jeopardy. The beauty business is about to get ugly.
LIKE A BOSS is in theaters January 10, 2020.
