Gyllenhaal, Holland are caught in a web of laughs in Far From Home gag reel

What makes a performance from any actor in a superhero movie all the more impressive is the fact they have to say their lines convincingly while wearing and/or looking at someone else in an elaborate costume or pair of tights. How the casts of these movies get through their scenes without constantly breaking to the point of shutting down production is a mystery. They get it done, though, albeit with enough laughs to make for some highly entertaining gag reels. Stars of SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME had their share of gaffes and crack-ups, and actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Holland continued to prove why they should just be in every movie together, especially a buddy cop movie that needs to be made right now.

To mark the release of FAR FROM HOME on Digital (Blu-ray and DVD October 1), Gyllenhaal took to Instagram to share a scene he and Holland struggled to get through, wherein both are sitting and having a casual discussion while in their comic-book duds. This came before Sony released a chunk of the full gag reel for our viewing pleasure, featuring more shenanigans and flubs from the cast. And yes, we even get a Samuel L. Jackson F-bomb aimed at Holland, because of course it happened and yes we need the footage.

News around Spider-Man has been a little dour of late, what with Sony and Marvel parting ways and thus taking away the web-slinger from the MCU. That business is what it is, but now we can get back to enjoying all the wall-crawling thrills with fun little videos like this and the movie as a whole as it hits Digital and Blu-ray. Yeah, you may need to wipe away puddles of tears knowing Spider-Man will never talk about Tony Stark again, but hey, it will come before the smile you'll have knowing Gyllenhaal and Holland are the best of pals. Isn't that all that matters?

SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME is on Digital now and on Blu-ray October 1.
