Jake Gyllenhaal looking to star in Guy Ritchie’s next movie

According to Deadline, Jake Gyllenhaal is in negotiations to star in the next Guy Ritchie movie, and… well, that’s pretty much all we know at this point.

The untitled Guy Ritchie movie will be written and directed by the man himself and will fit into “Ritchie’s visual style that audiences have loved for years.” Deadline states that this will be Jake Gyllenhaal’s next movie and the film is expected to start shooting at the end of the year.

Jake Gyllenhaal can currently be seen starring in Antoine Fuqua’s The Guilty, which is now streaming on Netflix. You can check out a review from our own Chris Bumbray right here. The actor has plenty of other projects on the horizon, including Ambulance, an action-thriller directed by Michael Bay that finds Gyllenhaal starring alongside Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as two bank robbers who steal an ambulance occupied by a paramedic (Eiza Gonzalez) and a patient in critical condition. The film is set for a February 18, 2022 release. He also recently signed on to star in an adaptation of Rob Liefeld’s Prophet which will be directed by Extraction‘s Sam Hargrave.

As for Guy Ritchie, the director’s next film will be Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre, a spy film that stars Jason Statham as super soy Orson Fortune. Together with his team of operatives, Fortune must recruit Hollywood’s biggest movie star to help them on an undercover mission to stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology that threatens to disrupt the world order. Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre will be released on January 21, 2022.
