Does it feel like Pete Davidson is everywhere these days? If you’ve already been to the theater to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, you may have heard (and seen) Pete Davidson and not even known it. James Gunn took to Twitter to reveal that not only did Pete Davidson lend his voice to a character in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, but he actually showed up on set to play him as well.

I voiced the beautiful Lambshank,” James Gunn wrote in response to a fan asking him if he voiced anyone in the movie. “I don’t want to show her here because she’s too gorgeous & I don’t want folks to feel bad about themselves in comparison. And my friend Pete not only voiced but actually came to visit us in Atlanta for a day and played Phlektik on set.

Pete Davidson appeared in The Suicide Squad (also directed by James Gunn), so his appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 makes him one of only a handful of actors to play a role in both the MCU and DCU.

The latest installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise finds our beloved band of misfits settling into life on Knowhere. But it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life—a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them. James Gunn wrote and directed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, which which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter, and Maria Bakalova.

Our own Chris Bumbray admitted that he hasn’t enjoyed the last few MCU offerings, but he called Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 the best Marvel movie since Avengers: Endgame. “While not perfect, [Guardians 3] is still a very entertaining addition to the genre, working as a space opera independent of the MCU,” Bumbray wrote in his review. “It’s impressive they gave Gunn the leeway to do this, as even Wakanda Forever was saddled with a degree of Marvel world-building that felt tacked on to what was otherwise a solid stand-alone movie.” You can check out the rest of Bumbray’s review right here.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is now playing in theaters, so be sure to let us know what you thought of the film as well!
