It's almost time to get hooked on a feeling all over again with the release of Marvel's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 and it looks as if James Gunn isn't done announcing additions to the highly-anticipated sci-fi action flick just yet! Today, it's being reported that SMALLVILLE's own Lex Luthor, Michael Rosenbaum, will be joining to cast.Just like Sylvester Stallone's character in the upcoming comic book adventure, Rosenbaum's part in the film remains undisclosed at this time – though Gunn has confirmed that the actor (who was once considered for the portrayal of Star-Lord) will play a "key role" in the film.
In talking about the casting while being a guest on the Adam Corolla Show, Gunn had said that, "a couple of characters who are very important to the Marvel Universe" will officially debut in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2. He also stated that both Stallone and Rosenbaum will have "pretty decent" roles in the film.
Hmm … significant characters to the Marvel Universe, you say? Could it be that we'll get a sneak peak at Brie Larson's CAPTAIN MARVEL at some point during the Guardians' space-faring shenanigans? Or, what if we get to catch a glimpse of Uatu the Watcher? Surely he's been observing all of the chaos happening in and around the Marvel Universe, right? I can see it all now, Uata munching away on a big bucket of popcorn Cape-Fear-style, laughing and shaking his head at the confused humans and super-powered beings who haven't a clue as to what they're doing. What a shame that he can only observe and never intervene. Then again, if he did, we probably wouldn't have anymore Marvel movies to look forward to.
GURADIANS OF THE GALAXY lands in theaters on May 5, 2017.
