Greta Gerwig to helm Little Women with Streep, Stone, Ronan & more in talks

After letting fly her critically-acclaimed directorial debut feature LADY BIRD, it's been announced that Hollywood darling Greta Gerwig has been set to helm an adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s time-honored novel, LITTLE WOMEN. As reports about the announcement continue to take flight, we've received word that Oscar-winning actresses Meryl Streep and Emma Stone are in talks to star in the upcoming film. If that's not enough to get your feathers flustered, it's also being said that LADY BIRD star Saoirse Ronan is expected to board the project alongside Timothee Chalamet and Florence Pugh. Provided that all sign on the dotted line, Sony's Columbia Pictures stands to present one hell of a cast looking to recreate the literary classic.

Based in-part on Alcott's personal experiences with her three sisters, LITTLE WOMEN centers on the March sisters, Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy, on their journey to womanhood, guided by their Marmee.

Producing the project with Denise Di Novi and Robin Swicord is Amy Pascal, who recently announced her involvement with SILK, a Spider-Man spinoff film based on the popular Korean-American wall-crawler from the pages of Marvel comics.
