It's going to be a while before the second season of Shudder's anthology series Creepshow is able to go into production, but we already know that one of the stories told in the next season is going to involve a giant spider.
We know this because the show's creative supervisor, special effects legend Greg Nicotero, who is sitting at home in isolation like many of us currently are, decided to share a short video on his Instagram account that gives a preview of the in-progress spider effect. This thing looks pretty cool, and even though it's not quite finished it's still realistic enough to creep out Nicotero, who has arachnophobia.
The first season of Creepshow is currently available to watch on the Shudder streaming service, and will be coming to DVD and Blu-ray on May 19th. Copies can be pre-ordered on Amazon.
Inspired by the George A. Romero / Stephen King anthology films CREEPSHOW and CREEPSHOW 2, the Creepshow series is
still the most fun you’ll ever have being scared! A comic book comes to life in a series of twelve vignettes over six episodes, exploring terrors from murder to the supernatural and unexplainable. Haunted dollhouses, werewolves, murderous goblins, villainous trick-or-treaters, the dead, and medical marvels are just a few of the things to watch out for in this new series. You never know what will be on the next page…
