Greg Grunberg to reunite with J.J. Abrams for Star Wars: Episode IX

It's been announced that HEROES and HOLLOW MAN actor Greg Grunberg will be reuniting with filmmaker J.J. Abrams, once again, for the production of STAR WARS: EPISODE IX. In the past, both men have collaborated on shows like LOST, ALIAS, and FELICITY, which helped them to foster a solid professional report as well as a meaningful friendship off-camera. It's being said that even though Grunberg's hot doggin' X wing fighter pilot Snap Wexley appeared to have perished in STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, that event will not sully his chances of appearing in the next chapter of light saber-swinging shenanigans as a yet-to-be-named character.

Not long ago, it was announced that DOCTOR WHO alum Matt Smith would be boarding the production of STAR WARS: EPISODE IX as well, with the intention of acting out an undisclosed role. Many fans of the franchise have pegged Smith for the part of a villain for the series, though the possibility that Smith will arrive as an ally of the Rebel Alliance is still on the table. Other newcomers to the series are actors Keri Russell, Richard E. Grant, and Dominic Monaghan, who will join returning stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Kelly Marie Tran, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson and Adam Driver for more interstellar drama.

You can catch Grunberg and the rest of the cast when J.J. Abrams' STAR WARS: EPISODE IX arrives in theaters on December 20, 2019.
