The Wrap got their hands on some exciting news regarding the long talked about PROMETHEUS sequel as the site reports, after working with Ridley Scott on a new BLADE RUNNER movie, veteran scribe Michael Green has been hired to rewrite the untitled PROMETHEUS sequel for 20th Century Fox. TRANSCENDENCE writer Jack Paglen wrote the original draft of the screenplay.
Multiple sources have told the site that the “Untitled Ridley Scott Project” that 20th Century Fox announced it will release in March 2016 is in fact PROMETHEUS 2, although the film may not ultimately use that title. They also say that the film is scheduled to start production this fall, after Scott delivers his upcoming film EXODUS to Fox.
They go on to say that Green's script will aim to be much more "alien-y" and will be more in line with the original films by taking on a more terrifying tone. This, to me, sounds like they're going to try to appeal to the people who walked out of PROMETHEUS expecting a through-and-through horror flick. I honestly don't care what tone it has, as long as they set out to answer some of the questions that the first film left us with. Additionally, the sequel is expected to feature multiple ‘David’ androids, which means there will be more than one Michael Fassbender on screen at the same time, according to an individual familiar with the project.
Okay, so there's literally nothing here to complain about other than the fact that we have to wait until 2016.
