Grady Hendrix’s Satanic Panic scores director Chelsea Stardust

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

One of my favorite books of the past few years has been Grady Hendrix's novel MY BEST FRIEND'S EXORCISM. I bought it for the awesome cover (which you can check out below) but kept it for the killer story contained within. And it is with this in mind I'm always on the lookout for news regarding Hendrix. And today we have word via Deadline that Hendrix's upcoming movie SATANIC PANIC has a snagged a director in the form of Chelsea Stardust.

Cinestate’s Dallas Sonnier:

Our movie screams for a female director’s vision, and we had a blast getting to know several truly talented candidates. With Chelsea at the helm, I feel strongly that we have a future horror comedy classic on our hands that will be celebrated by Fangoria audiences who crave wickedly entertaining, boundary-pushing movies.

The film is "an After Hours-esque horror comedy with a dash of gore" about

a pizza delivery girl at the end of her financial rope who has to fight for her life — and her tips — when her last order of the night turns out to be high society Satanists in need of a virgin sacrifice.

Cinestate’s Dallas Sonnier (Bone Tomahawk) & Amanda Presmyk (Dragged Across Concrete) will produce for Fangoria with Aperture Entertainment’s Adam Goldworm (Masters Of Horror). Fangoria’s Phil Nobile Jr. and Adam Donaghey will be exec producers.  Tate Steinsiek is on board to handle the special effects.

Grady Hendrix penned the script based on a story he wrote with Ted Geoghegan. Casting is already underway and principal photography is set for October in North Texas.
