If you're not familiar with director Paul Solet's 2009 indie hit GRACE, you need to correct that immediately. The guy has got the goods when it comes to delivering a solidly shocking piece of cinema. That is why it with great excitement that we share the news that Solet has been tapped to helm the supernatural horror film DARK SUMMER, based on a screenplay by "K-Town" web series creator Mike Le.
The Hollywood Reporter dropped the news this morning that sales, finance and production banner Content will pitch the film to buyers at the Marche du Film at Cannes this month and that the film will be produced by Preferred Film & TV (PFT), a joint venture between Content Media Corporation (CMC) and Preferred Content’s Ross Dinerstein and Kevin Iwashina.
Billed as a stylized modern ghost story, DARK SUMMER follows…
the tale of a 17-year-old on house arrest for the summer. With his mother away on business, a horrifying incident occurs, followed by an even more terrifying presence in the house.
Production on DARK SUMMER is set to begin in the fall of 2013.
