Comic book adaptation go-to writer/director David Goyer has signed on to bring yet another comic character to the big screen – Magneto. He’ll be directing the X-MEN spin-off film of the metal-controlling mutant and will develop the script written by Sheldon Turner. The film will of course be an origin story showing Magneto honing his skills manipulating metal by brutally mutilating Nazis. That is, of course, until he meets another powerfully psychic mutant by the name of Charles Xavier who tries to put an end to his Nazi-killing fun by yammering on about “killing won’t erase the hurt…” or some such nonsense. Needless to say, Magneto isn’t about to let anyone deprive him of the exhilarating high of torturing Nazi bastards and it’s in that conflict that the action-packed fighting ensues. Unfortunately for all you Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart fans, Magneto and Xavier will be portrayed by beefy 20-something man-candies so the veteran actors’ participation, if any, will be limited at best.
