Goosebumps TV series: Author R.L. Stine gives update on new show

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

So this is cool! On his official Twitter account a couple days ago, famed author R.L. Stine had a seemingly wholesome impromptu Q&A session with fans over the social media platform (rare for Twitter, honestly)! And while we got a lot of good tidbits during that time (like the fact he’s just signed a contract to write six more Goosebumps books), no tidbit was as interesting as the fact that not only is there going to be a new Goosebumps TV series coming out, but that there's already a producer and director signed up for it!

Check out the tweet for yourself, below:

Now, of course, that's not a ton of information. However, as someone who enjoyed the first Goosebumps movie and loved the original 90's TV series (which I refuse to re-watch, as I'm certain it doesn't hold up anymore) – as well as a huge fan of the book series itself – knowing what they can currently do with modern special effects with just a modest budget, as well as pushing the envelop on what's allowed on TV (even children's television), makes me excited for a rebooted series! Sure, it could also suck (like the second Goosebumps movie and probably the '90s TV show – which, again, I won't revisit), but I'm still willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.

So what do you guys think? Fans of Goosebumps? If so, looking forward to the new reboot? Either way, sound off below!
