A few days ago we gave you guys the scoop on R.L. Stine's teen horror novel series FEAR STREET getting the motion picture treatment very soon. This news got me thinking about how the workings of the new GOOSEBUMPS flick (currently title, get this – GOOSEBUMPS 2) were running.
I jumped over to Twitter and found Stine had dropped a bit of an update on the project. Looks like everything is still on track for more GOOSEBUMPS heading our way next year.
Good to know!
Now there was word a few months back that the new GOOSEBUMPS flick would be coming our way January 26th, 2018, and Stine's tweet (kinda confirms this) but Bloody Disgusting also recently reported that Sony has moved GOOSEBUMPS 2 all the way into September 21st of next year.
All the same, GOOSEBUMPS 2 is still on track to creep into theaters next year. Be it in January, or the more Halloween-appropriate release date in late September. One date or the other, we'll be having more Jack Black vs Slappy mayhem coming sooner than later.
Hopefully…
Darren Lemke, who wrote the first GOOSEBUMPS flick is returning to pen the follow-up, along with the original film's director Rob Letterman. Jack Black is also expected to return as Stine.
Odeya Rush played Stine's "daughter with a secret" in GOOSEBUMPS
