Godzilla vs. Kong: New images tease the much-anticipated monster mash

It won't be long now before two of Hollywood's biggest titans collide for what's certainly the most-anticipated kaiju battle of the year. Of course, I'm talking about Godzilla vs. Kong, and today we've got a batch of new images teasing the upcoming monster mash.

Directed by Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest), the film pits fearsome monsters Godzilla and King Kong against one another in an epic battle for the ages. However, humanity is looking to wipe both of the creatures off the face of the Earth and take back the planet once and for all. Good grief. Good luck with that, humans. Have you learned anything from movies like Jurassic Park? Beasts like Godzilla and Kong are unstoppable, and no amount of military firepower is going to put them down. In other words, you're all screwed.

Today Total Film magazine shared some new stills from the upcoming film, featuring both Godzilla and Kong duking it out as well as a new look at human characters Madison (Millie Bobby Brown), Josh (Julian Dennison), and Bernie (Brian Tyree Henry).

Our own Matt Rooney recently interviewed Adam Wingard for Godzilla vs. Kong, and during their talk, Matt asked the mother of all questions: Which do you prefer? Godzilla or Kong? To which Wingard replied:

"You know, favorites are a strong word, but I will say that I definitely knew who I wanted to win right off the bat. I remember in second grade there was a friend of mine who had a definitive idea of who he thought would win in a fight, Godzilla or King Kong, and I remember being on the playground and arguing with him about it, and I felt like he was totally wrong by the way. And so, in a weird roundabout way, this movie is like the most ridiculous way of winning a fight with a friend of yours in second grade. But now I finally have the last word. And he can't [laughs]."
