Godzilla set to tussle with David Strathairn

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

And the prestigious GODZILLA cast continues to grow.

The Gareth Edwards film already has Aaron Johnson, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen and Juliette Binoche signed on, and now it has gone ahead and added David Strathairn to the mix.

Strathairn was recently seen in LINCOLN, and is best known for roles in Syfy’s “Alphas”, GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK (for which he received an Oscar nomination), THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM and DOLORES CLAIBORNE.

Strathairn is evidently in line to play a military figure in GODZILLA (there’s always a few of those), but as Variety notes, plot and character details are still largely under wraps.

Edwards is directing from a script by Max Borenstein, Dave Callaham and Frank Darabont. The film, which is being produced by Legendary Pictures and will be distributed by Warner Bros., has a release date of May 16, 2014 set.
