Writer/Director Michael Dougherty was recently in the news for having signed on to write HBO's upcoming HELLRAISER (sequel?) series. But before that he wrote/directed the fun and underrated (if still flawed) GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS, which was about
Members of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species-thought to be mere myths-rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance.
Now, while the next entry in the "Monsterverse" series – GODZILLA VS. KONG – is currently scheduled to be released this year (with possibly the continued future of this particular cinematic universe's survival riding on its success, after GODZILLA: KOTM under-performed), Dougherty went on Twitter to pitch where he thinks the series should go afterward – and it's pretty cool:
I’d still love to do GODZILLA B.C. where we finally see this ancient world of man and monster, like a modern day Ray Harryhausen flick. Or maybe we just go for it and finally take humans out of the equation…. #Monsterversewatchalong #NerdistAtHome

Meanwhile, GODZILLA VS. KONG is still expected to arrive in theaters November 20th, 2020…though we'll keep you updated if that date sticks.
So what do you guys think? Would you like a prehistoric GODZILLA film with no humans? Either way, sound off below!
