After being held up in…distribution hell…for over a year, Eli Roth's cannibalistic epic THE GREEN INFERNO was rescued by Jason Blum's Blumhouse Productions and will finally see a theatrical release on September 25, 2015 via the studio's BH Tilt banner.
A newly updated trailer for the splatter-pic has been released which should get your blood pumping, check it out below.
I'm not an Eli Roth fanboy by any means, but I was actually quite looking forward to checking out THE GREEN INFERNO when we first heard of it. Now that we can actually start getting excited about seeing it in theaters I fear that I've over-hyped the film for myself. Will it actually be the cannibalistic epic I've painted it as? Will I find myself disappointed by what could merely be a modern-day CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST? Screw it, I've got more important things to worry about…like this lump on my neck. Eh, I'm sure it's nothing.
New York college student Justine (Lorenza Izzo), a lawyer’s daughter, meets a student activist named Alejandro (Ariel Levy) when he goes on a hunger strike on behalf of underpaid janitors. Smitten, Justine agrees to help Alejandro undertake his next project: to save the Amazon. She soon learns to regret her decision when their plane crashes in the Peruvian jungle and she and the rest of their group are taken captive by a tribe of hungry cannibals.
THE GREEN INFERNO will chomp its way into theaters on September 25, 2015, but if you're looking to check out a review of the film right now, Chris Bumbray reviewed the film back when it was screened at TIFF 2013 and you can check that out right here.
