Very little is known about writer/director Vaughn Stein's thriller TERMINAL, but with less than two months to go until the film's theatrical release a teaser trailer have arrived online to… tell us absolutely nothing, aside from the fact that the character played by Margot Robbie claims to be as mad as a hatter.
The teaser is unmistakably only a teaser, but by watching you can see that TERMINAL has some very stylish cinematography. That alone might make the movie worth seeing once, even if the story doesn't hold up.
That story is set in
the dark heart of a sprawling anonymous city and follows the twisting tales of two assassins carrying out a sinister mission, a teacher battling a fatal illness, an enigmatic janitor, and a curious waitress leading a dangerous double life. Murderous consequences unravel in the dead of night as their lives all intertwine at the hands of a mysterious criminal mastermind hell-bent on revenge.
Clearly Stein has chosen to keep the city anonymous so he and cinematographer Christopher Ross could build their own colorful little world.
TERMINAL is set to reach theatres on May 11th, and there's an Alice in Wonderland theme going on here: in addition to Robbie saying she's mad as a hatter, the teaser also says the film will be "tumbling down the rabbit hole" on its release date.
Robbie's co-stars include Simon Pegg, Dexter Fletcher, Max Irons, and Mike Myers.
