Action/Sci Fi icon MATTHIAS HUES has been kicking ass and taking name in films for over 30 years now; he's done it all and seen it all! We're talking gems like I COME IN PEACE (A fav of mine, where's that sequel?), KICKBOXER 2: THE ROAD BACK, BOUNTY TRACKER, NO RETREAT NO SURRENDER 2 (his screen debut, replacing Van Damme who walked off the film), TC 2000, he even played a Klingon in STAR TREK 6 and was recently seen in the last PUPPET MASTER movie (The Littlest Reich).
Matthias was kind enough to take the time to film himself at his home in Bali to give us an in depth chat about his career and how fights scenes were done back then, compared to today! Amidst the funny anecdotes; he also focuses on his trial by fire experiences on two of his cult classic films: BLACK BELT (1992) and MISSION OF JUSTICE (1992). So get yourself a glass of wine (or a beer, or whatever your drink of choice is), kick back and enjoy this sit down (via the embed above) with the great Matthias Hues! The video is akin to chatting with an old friend. Honest, candid and amusing, I hope you enjoy it!
And if you want to hear more sordid tales from Mr. Hues, make sure to pick up his brutally honest and often funny memoirs SHIRTLESS IN HOLLYWOOD (OUR REVIEW HERE) – trust me when I say this, it is a FANTASTIC read, specially if you're in the film industry or if you have an interest in the amount blood, sweat, tears and BS enduring that comes with trying to make your mark in Hollywood.
