Writer/director Dave Kerr is currently in post-production on the home invasion slasher Go Away, which is expected to be released sometime early next year – and while Kerr puts the final touches on the movie, a new trailer for it has arrived online! You can check it out in the embed above.
Funded through an Indiegogo campaign that raised over $50,000, Go Away aims to pit “old school vs. new school in an intruder film with a twist”. The story follows Liz as she, along with her boyfriend Mark travel to a remote home in the woods to visit her estranged mother, Sherry. Sherry has recently remarried after the death of her first husband to an odd man named Chuck and has invited her family out to meet him. As Liz and the rest of her family try to put their differences aside long enough to survive dinner, an unexpected knock at the door turns into deadly chaos when a group of masked intruders take the family hostage and force them to play a deadly game of hide and seek.
Christine Oswald (Panic 9-1-1) stars as Liz, with Matthew Sharpe (A Comedy of Horrors Volume 1) as Mark, Tuesday Knight (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master) as Sherry, and Thom Mathews (Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI) as Chuck. Also in the cast are Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), LC Holt (You’re Next), Justin Marxen (Haunt), and Robert Mukes (House of 1000 Corpses).
Kerr previously directed Curse of the Slasher Nurse, Return of the Slasher Nurse, and Bloody Summer Camp.
What did you think of the new Go Away trailer? Are you looking forward to the movie? Let us know by leaving a comment below. I can’t say I’m very impressed with the picture or sound quality in this trailer, especially given how much money the project was able to raise on Indiegogo. But the fact that the movie has so many notable genre actors packed into the cast – including some from ’80s movies that I love – is enough to guarantee that I’ll be watching it at some point.
