In just under one month from today, the Disney remake of THE LION KING will hit theaters and already it’s poised to rule the summer box office. Much of the past trailers have put much of the focus on the visuals and the visuals alone, with lines from James Earl Jones’ Mufasa getting some emphasis. Of the new cast stars, Donald Glover and Beyonce Knowles Carter have got people anxious to hear how the new renditions of certain musical numbers will sound, and in the new teaser for the movie we can finally hear them duetting with one of the soundtracks more classic songs, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.”

The teaser doesn’t feature the whole number, of course, but it does kick off with Glover’s (as Simba) and Knowles' (as Nala) melodic singing, then intercutting with – you guessed it – James Earl Jones talking to little Simba. As the song comes in and out we hear Mufafa saying, “Look at the stars. The great kings look down on us from those stars. And so will I," before showing his face in the clouds.

Many of the same songs are likely to make an appearance in LION KING, but it’s also been reported that Knowles and the original movie’s song maestro Elton John are working on a new song for the movie. Whether or not that song will have a place in the movie or will play over the credits remains to be seen, but perhaps Disney will tease it in the coming weeks so as to get people talking about this movie in relation to something new and fresh.
This movie will, at the end of the day, make all the money that audiences currently aren't spending on some of the other box office disappointments of the last month or so, even if there are some people out there who don't like the fact such a classic is being remade. With that in mind, if Glover and Beyonce singing this song together don't get some those butts on the fence into the seats, then nothing will.
THE LION KING is in theaters July 19.
