Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the cookie jar, word from Fangoria has Full Moon Entertainment in preproduction for the sequel to GINGERDEAD MAN. Yep, the same one that starred Gary Busey. Unlike the first film, director Charles Band and Busey are not involved with the sequel, entitled GINGERDEAD MAN 2: PASSION OF THE CRUST *groan*. Instead, the film was written by and will be directed by Sylvia St. Croix, who co-scripted the 2005 original.
“It takes place on the set of an ultra-low-budget horror film, where a sick Make-a-Wish-type kid wants to meet the cast and crew,” explains St. Croix. “He and the others get more than they bargain for when the world’s most ruthless, violent yet chewy and delicious cookie returns to continue his murderous killing spree. Bad yeast will rise again—with the ultimate in horrible taste.” Well, at least it’s not JACK FROST.
As for any special surprises, St. Croix says to expect “several cameos” from familiar faces within the genre both in front of and behind the camera. Whatever that means.
