While she’s quite busy at the moment with Hannibal and the revival of The X-Files, Gillian Anderson isn’t taking any breaks from the big screen. Anderson will star in CROAK, a supernatural drama from Sam Fell, the co-director of Laika’s delightful PARANORMAN.
Anderson is joined by Kodi Smit-McPhee (LET ME IN) and Tilda Cobham-Hervey in the film, which is being presented to buyers in Cannes.
CROAK centers on world-weary 17-year-old Jenny (Cobham-Hervey) and mysterious, geeky Marcus (Smit-McPhee) – a young grim reaper living somewhere between the land of the living and oblivion.
Anderson is to play the character of the grim “Mistress” who keeps a watchful eye over Marcus’ every misstep in the human world.
Among the ace technical staff: visual effects supervisor Adam McInnes (Game of Thrones), Oscar-winning costume designer Ngila Dickson (THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy) and FX powerhouse Double Negative (TERMINATOR: GENISYS, ANT-MAN).
