It may have to do with the copious amounts of
hallucinogenic drugs that I do, but I personally feel that Terry Gilliam is one
of the most brilliant directors around. With this in mind, and the recent news
of what he would like his next feature to be, I really hope that he can gain
funding for the project which sounds absolutely amazing!
The
Sydney Morning Herald caught up with director
extraordinaire Terry Gilliam, and while discussing his last work
TIDELAND, Gilliam mentioned what he would like
his next piece to be, and while it definitely sounds somewhat like BEING JOHN
MALKOVICH, I definitely think that it’s something that the director could
rock out hard-core!
The flick would be called The Imaginarium of
Dr Parnassus, and would be set in a traveling show
which has an attraction that allows patrons to go inside a man’s mind.
When it comes to a surreal atmosphere you really
can’t go wrong with Gilliam. I mean is there anyone better to put you into a
world of such utter nonsense that it actually does start to make sense?
Hopefully well be reporting on this once again in the near future, but for now
it seems like we’ll have to wait and hope that a studio steps up to fund this
sweet-ass project.
