Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection includes new bonus features for first two films

When director Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife comes to home video on February 1st, you can either buy it on its own (you can purchase the Ghostbusters: Afterlife 4K UHD and Blu-ray set at THIS LINK, the Blu-ray and Digital release HERE, and the DVD and Digital release HERE), in a simple triple feature set with the original Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II (get a Blu-ray triple feature set of Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II, and Afterlife at THIS LINK, or the triple feature on DVD HERE), or bundled with the other movies in an 8 disc “Ultimate Collection” that can be purchased at THIS LINK.

When we first heard about the Ultimate Collection last week, it was known that it would include Ghost Trap styled packaging, the three movies on two discs each, and two bonus discs, as well as the Making of Ghostbusters book that was edited by Don Shay and features the complete shooting script for the original Ghostbusters, written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, “fully annotated by the director, producers, and writers, illustrated with more than 200 behind-the-scenes photographs and drawings”. Now the full list of bonus features has been unveiled, and it contains some very cool new extras, including a Preview Cut of the first movie and 19 deleted scenes from Ghostbusters II!

Paul Feig’s 2016 Ghostbusters movie wasn’t originally intended to be part of the Ultimate Collection, but after some fans and Feig himself cried foul Sony decided to add a digital copy of that film into the mix. Fan of the ’16 Ghostbusters won’t get much out of this set, but it sounds like a “must have” for super-fans of the trilogy of films directed by Jason Reitman and his father Ivan Reitman.
