The movie was such an unexpected smash that the toys the studio should have ordered to coincide with its release took two years to come out, and wound up being tie-ins with the popular kids animated series The Real Ghostbusters. They had everything – the Ecto-1, proton packs, P.K.E Meters, Slimer (with real slime), the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man – and kids ate it up.
