Ghost Rider rides today! Filming on Ghost Rider 2 includes the Transfagarasanul!

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

The moment has arrived folks. Filming for GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE has started today, according to the directing duo’s Twitter account, and it seems that they’re going to be working with a lot more twists and turns than we’d originally expected…and I’m not talking about plot devices either.

It’s unknown which scene they will be working on first but whatever it is it has to do something with the Transfagarasanul (below) which is the highest road in Romania. As you can see there are more twists and pulls on the road than a nipple twister gone bad. Is our man Cage going to conquer this angry broad during the movie? We’ll hope so. Imagining a fiery motorcycle tear down these streets is already upping up the hype meter on my part.

Taylor and Neveldine both announced on their twitter this morning: “principal photography on ghost rider SOV begins today!!! idris elba, helicopters, motorcycles, russian arm and the the Transfagarasanul…. HOLY SHIT”

Sounds like they’ve got a lot on their plate. Are there any worries here? Not much folks. Expect to see more news in the coming weeks as the status of production progresses.

The story sees Johnny Blaze, aka Ghost Rider (Cage), hiding out in remote Eastern Europe and struggling to repress his curse. Blaze is recruited by a sect to take on the devil (Ciaran Hinds), who wants to take over his mortal son’s body on the kid’s birthday.

In GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine (GAMER, CRANK) will be directing. The flick is set to being shooting in late November in Romania and Turkey. Neveldine and Taylor also wrote the script, working off a story by David Goyer. Avi Arad, Ari Arad, Michael De Luca, Ashok Amritraj and Steven Paul are producing. Nicholas Cage returns as the fire-headed Ghost Rider and will lead a cast that stars Ciaran Hinds, Violante Placido, Johnny Whitworth and Idris Elba.

Dare you to ride her turns. Eva Mendes.
