Gharial Productions to adapt The Kult from Shaun Jeffrey’s novel

Gharial Productions, a San Diego based studio, has just announced that they’ve got a new thriller coming out that will surely turn heads. The announced film is titled THE KULT, a psychological thriller about the hunt for a serial killer. Principal Photography has already begun on this puppy and it’s only a matter of time before we’ll start seeing stills and footage from the set. Production is stated to be filmed in San Diego and Riverside Counties.

The movie will be based on the best-selling novel by UK author Shaun Jeffrey, and tells the story of a hunt for a serial killer. Acting out of misguided loyalty to his friends, Detective Prosper Snow is goaded into helping them perform a copycat killing. But when the real killer comes after him, it’s not only his life on the line, but his family’s too. If he goes to his colleagues for help, he risks being arrested for murder. If he doesn’t, he risks being killed.

Not too shabby for a detective thriller. The premise is a little different than most films these days which isn’t saying much. I’ll admit that this is a flick to watch out for as the book is a pretty good read. Will the film’s story capture the suspense that Jeffrey crafts in his story? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Joe Soro will star as Detective Prosper Snow. Kip Shelton will be directing the flick. Other locations for the film’s production include the city of San Diego, Poway, Temecula, and lake Elsinore. Stick with us as we bring you more updates.
