January 5th is likely going to be a great day for writer/director Jay Weisman. That's the day when Uncork'd Entertainment will be releasing his sci-fi thriller SHOCKWAVE DARKSIDE, a ten year labor of love for the filmmaker, onto VOD.
Weisman's story:
Five soldiers, shot down and behind enemy lines in a battle over water, frozen in the deep craters of the lunar surface, find themselves marooned on the dark side of the moon. With depleting air and supplies, they have no choice but to start a dangerous trek through hostile territory. As their numbers dwindle and nerves fray, they make an amazing discovery about the moon that just might save their lives, but destroy the very cause that they are fighting for.
The film stars Bill Sage, Mei Melancon, Sonequa Martin-Green, and Rich Ceraulo.
It sounds like SHOCKWAVE DARKSIDE has a solid set-up, and I'll probably check it out, but regardless of whether or not I end up liking the film, it's worth congratulating Weisman for putting in the effort over the course of so many years, getting it made and out into the world.
