Get your first look at The Creep from Greg Nicotero’s Creepshow TV series

George A. Romero & Stephen King's CREEPSHOW still stands the test of time as one of my absolute favourite horror anthologies, and the franchise is set to make a comeback in the form of a TV series for Shudder. The Walking Dead's Greg Nicotero will be executive-producing the new Creepshow series as well as helming an episode or two, and in a statement released when the series was first announced last summer, said, "Creepshow is a project very close to my heart! It is one of those titles that embraces the true spirit of horror… thrills and chills celebrated in one of its truest art forms, the comic book come to life! I’m honored to continue the tradition in the ‘spirit’ which it was created."

Nicotero took to Instagram earlier today to reveal that the first Creepshow episode has wrapped, and also gave us a look at the new version of The Creep, the ghoul who introduces each horrifying segment.

If you're familiar with the first CREEPSHOW movie, you'll recognize that very little has changed about The Creep. I like it. One of the segments in the six-episode first season of Creepshow will be an adaptation of Stephen King's "Survivor Type," a short story which tells the tale of a disgraced surgeon who goes to extraordinary lengths to survive after he finds himself marooned on a tiny island. It's pretty gruesome. Creepshow is expected to debut on Shudder later this year.
