On the surface, Clara Barron seems to have it all: a job as an OB-GYN; a great house in LA; and a loving family. But the one thing Clara doesn’t have figured out is her love life. Pressured by a family wedding in Mexico, Clara asks a co-worker to pose as her boyfriend for the weekend festivities,- only to be caught by surprise when her ex-boyfriend (and family favorite) suddenly shows up after disappearing from her life completely. Clara is torn between the two in the trailer for EVERYBODY LOVES SOMEBODY.
Alright, I’ll be the first to admit that this is normally not the type of movie I’d go for. However, there’s something about Karla Souza, who’s absolutely adorable, as well as the visual aesthetic of this film. It’s a “comfort food movie”, through and through, and I’m more than okay with that! Sometimes sitting down with the comfortably predictable can be a pleasant experience, given the right actors and proper writing, and EVERYBODY LOVES SOMEBODY looks to be exactly that.
EVERYBODY LOVES SOMEBODY will open in select theaters on February 21, 2017.
