I don't know if you guys remember, but last month we let you know that Blumhouse had submitted writer-director Jordan Peele's horror-thriller GET OUT to this year's Golden Globes as a comedy.
And as of this morning, the film has scored two major nominations!
But both are in the categories of Musical/Comedy. So strange…Anyhow, the nominations are for Best Motion Picture and Best Actor for star Daniel Kaluuya.
I'm really excited and happy about Kaluuya's nomination, but the comedy category still perplexes me. And on top of that, I'm a bit stunned that Jordan Peele didn't score nominations for either directing or screenwriting. Again, so strange…
What did you think of Jordan Peele's "comedy" GET OUT? How many times have you seen it? Make sure to hit us up and let us know in the comments below or on social media!
GET OUT synopsis:
Now that Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams), have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with Missy and Dean. At first, Chris reads the family's overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter's interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he never could have imagined.
GET OUT is written & directed by Jordan Peele and produced by Jason Blum. The horror film stars Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Bradley Whitford, Caleb Landry Jones, Stephen Root, and Catherine Keener.
