Margot Robbie is a talented actress known not just for her incredible talent but also her stunning beauty. She’s been wowing audiences since her debut in 2013’s THE WOLF OF WALL STREET, and her upcoming role as Tonya Harding in the biopic, I, TONYA, will require her to become near unrecognizable. Well the first photo of her as Harding as dropped, and unrecognizable doesn’t even cover it
The photo shows her on-set of the movie in full make-up, sporting some mom jeans and that all-too-familiar 90’s-style sweater. Needless to say she looks utterly transformed from her normal self, and hopefully she will get to demonstrate some real acting chops in the role.
Enough dilly-dally! Take a look!
It’s been about 10 months since Margot Robbie was cast to play Harding, and other than the casting of Sebastian Stan and hiring of director Craig Gillespie we haven’t heard too much. We know the story though (as does anyone who was alive in 1994) about how Harding hired an assassin to break fellow ice skater Nancy Kerrigan's leg, a task which ultimatley failed. This glimpse of her goes a long in way in showing how committed she is to the role, mainly for having to put on those jeans.
I like a good biopic as much as the next youthful 20-something, but if there’s anything that has me dismayed it's the screenwriter. Steven Rogers hasn’t penned anything I really like, such as KATE & LEOPOLD, P.S. I LOVE YOU and LOVE THE COOPERS, so I don't have much faith. However, Robbie’s performance will no doubt be one to watch, so I can see myself scuttling into a theater just for that. Seriously, that hair though.
I, TONYA is aiming for a 2018 release.
