Yesterday, we shared the link to the first episode of The Commentary Cast, a new podcast dedicated to providing audio commentaries for films that have been released through streaming services. Each episode of the show will be a "feature length commentary that provides an in-depth conversation with filmmakers as they review and break down their work". Hosted by filmmaker Grant Sputore and VFX artist Dave McDonnell, the podcast got its start with an episode in which writer/director Zak Hilditch discussed his Stephen King adaptation 1922. The second episode also focuses on a King adaptation: director Mike Flanagan's 2017 film Gerald's Game.
The Gerald's Game audio commentary that Flanagan recorded with Sputore and McDonnell can be heard at THIS LINK.
Scripted by Flanagan and Jeff Howard, Gerald's Game shows what happens when
a woman accidentally kills her husband during a kinky game. Handcuffed to her bed with no hope of rescue, she begins hearing voices and seeing strange visions.
Carla Gugino, Bruce Greenwood, Chiara Aurelia, Carel Struycken, Henry Thomas, and Kate Siegel star.
Covering 1922 and Gerald's Game back-to-back was a great way to get The Commentary Cast started (and the third episode focuses on the awesome action movie Extraction, so the greatness continues). I'm really looking forward to seeing / hearing what's ahead for the show.
