George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Jon Watts film

Who’s ready for the greatest bidding war of 2021? Tie your gloves on tight, Hollywood, because multiple film studios have come out swinging for what’s sure to be a hot feature project. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) are teaming for a new movie.

This project is going to cause multiple studios and streamers to open their wallets wide and be ready to pony up. Studios like Sony, Lionsgate, Apple, and Netflix are already at each other’s throats for the package, with Amazon, Annapurna, Universal, MGM, and Warner Bros. also circling like sharks.

Watts will write, direct, and produce the thriller that has Clooney and Pitt set to star. Both actors are also producing through their respective studios, Smokehouse Pictures and Plan B Entertainment.

Plot details are scarce at this time, though it’s been said the film will tell the tale of two lone-wolf fixers assigned to the same job. Aw yeah, there’s nothing like a bit of competition among enemies, eh?

Clooney and Pitt are titans within the entertainment spectrum, and Watts is looking real hot after directing a trio of Spider-Man movies for Sony and Marvel. Watts’s Spider-Man: Far From Home grossed $1.1 billion at the worldwide box office in 2019, which is why he’s a favorite over at Disney. Disney loves Watts so much that they set him as the director of their upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. If I’ve got one thing to say about that, it’s this: Don’t mess it up, Jon! I’m counting on you! We’re all counting on you! No pressure!

I figure it’s only a matter of time before more A-listers are added to the cast of whatever this collaboration is, and that’s only going to stoke the flames. Burn, baby, burn!
