George C. Romero, Day of the Dead screening & more at Salem Horror Fest

A very cool-sounding film festival is set to take place in Salem Massachusetts over the first half of October – the Salem Horror Fest, which will be packed with screenings of awesome genre classics, along with appearances by notable guests.

George A. Romero's 1985 classic DAY OF THE DEAD will be screening as part of the Salem Horror Fest, and leading into that screening is a panel called "A Conversation with George C. Romero".

George C. Romero, son of legendary director George A. Romero, will join Salem Horror Fest for a special one hour conversation with Daily Dead editor Jonathan James. Romero will speak about his twenty years of experience in the film industry, life with his father, and continuing the Living Dead legacy as he gears up for production on the NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD prequel RISE OF THE LIVING DEAD.

Also on the schedule is a screening of THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD hosted by Linnea Quigley; a 30th anniversary screening of ELVIRA, MISTRESS OF THE DARK hosted by Elvira herself, Cassandra Peterson; and screenings of ALIEN, THE TOXIC AVENGER, CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, TREMORS, MY BLOODY VALENTINE, SUSPIRIA, THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, DEATH BECOMES HER, THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK, HAXAN, ROSEMARY'S BABY… and more!

The Salem Horror Fest will run from October 4th through the 14th. Reading up on it, I'm feeling very anxious to attend the show myself. If you'd like to attend and will be able to make it to Salem in October, head over to SalemHorror.com to pick up tickets to the event.
